A wedding is not considered someone’s “big day” for nothing. For some people it is the formal expression of an endless commitment. For others, a wedding is simply an extravagant way of sealing the union between couples. But no matter how people look at it, it remains to be one of the most-celebrated events of all time – cynics included.

Regardless who you are marrying, or at what age you’re doing it, your wedding day should be more special than any other day in your life. Let’s face it, weddings entail expenses – a lot in fact. But just because you can’t have it in the most elegant fashion doesn’t mean you should not get married at all. Weddings can still be very extraordinary even if you only have limited funds. The key to making it as beautiful as you imagined it to be is preparation.

Planning your wedding way ahead will save you a lot of money and trouble. Having plenty of time for preparation will allow you to look at your options carefully. You can scout for various vendors and compare their prices and services. For example, there are a lot of photographers around. Knowing more than one or two will give you an idea which offers a better deal.

How much time is “enough” time?

So much to do, so little time. This is the usual complain that people have when preparing for their wedding celebrations. Even if a couple started planning it the year before the wedding date, there doesn’t seem to be enough time to squeeze everything in. So, just how much time should the preparation have?

There is really no definite time-frame for a wedding preparation. But if you want the details to turn as planned, you’ll need several months to get everything ready. Make a checklist of all the things that you need to take care of. This way you’ll know just how long you need to organize them.

If you are rather intimidated by the extent of the preparation, then you can always seek the help of the professionals. There are wedding consultants who will make sure everything is ready on your big day. Of course, they are going to be an additional expense, but if you are not on a tight budget, these people are the greatest help you can get.

Adhering to a certain budget may not grant you the pleasure of hiring wedding consultants. But then, it does not mean that it’s the end of the line for you and your dream wedding. Your fiancée may not be as keyed up on the wedding preparations as you are but you can always ask him to do his share nevertheless. Friends and family can also be your biggest allies, so delegate some tasks to them as well. The length of the planning and preparation stage depends on the wedding details and how much you are supposed to spend on them.

The Wedding What-Have-You’s

Sometimes the earlier you plan on it, the longer the list becomes. So even if you probably do not need fireworks on your wedding day, you just had to squeeze it in. If you have too much time on your hands, it is still best to keep with the essentials. Polish them to perfection if you have to. Otherwise, you’ll have everything of the unnecessary and only a bit of the most vital ones.

Achieving the best wedding on a budget is very doable when you learn to ignore “should” from the vocabulary for the time-being. Each one of us is born unique and we all want our weddings to be as unique as we are. There are number of ways to plan a wedding, and our personal desires should guide our choices.

The Wedding Gown

No one disputes the fact that the bride is the ultimate star on her wedding day. But even if this is so, she doesn’t really have to wear an Armani gown to prove that point. In fact, she could be wearing a rental and no one will ever notice except the store she rented the gown from. Bottomline, the gown does not make you a star. How you feel does. So instead of splurging on a dress that you only get to wear for a day, try spending your money on something else, like rejuvenating massages and other pre-wedding pampering.

The wedding gowns and tuxedos of the entourage should not be a big issue as well. Generally, each one is responsible for paying for his or her own wedding attire. If not everyone is keen on having a specially-tailored one, you can have them go to a rental. The rental stores will definitely have gowns that will go well with the wedding colors. And since tuxedos don’t come cheap, the men can rent these as well.

The Wedding Reception

This is basically where most of the money is spent on and where spending can take a turn for the worse. But only a few people know that the reception is one element of weddings that allow a drastic cut-down on costs. Here are a few tips:

The number of people you have invited will obviously influence how much you will be paying for the food. And even if some people will skip the occasion, as long as they’re on the guest list, you are still bound to pay for them. So invite only your closest family and friends. Forget the classmate you haven’t seen or talked to for years. Also, kids can be a handful. So if you want to avoid disasters, tell your guests that you want your wedding to be an all-adult affair. Save for the flower girls and ring bearer of course.

Weddings that served bad food are remembered for all eternity. So if you don’t want yours to be on everyone’s mind for the wrong reasons, make sure that you acquired the services of a reliable caterer. Do menu sampling with your fiancée, some friends and family members from at least 3 caterers. Try doing this on the very same day so you will be able to do a better comparison.

Live bands have become a part of most weddings these days. But while they are supposed to provide the entertainment during the reception, some unforeseen hitches may well make them turn the celebration into one complete disaster. Thus, make sure that you have an alternative plan. You may also ask some friends or relatives to create a plan B in case the original plan won’t push through.

The Invites

You can still have beautiful invites without going over the budget. There is the do-it-yourself software available which will only require you to buy some nice stationery and envelopes. Remember that wedding invitations can be very expensive that’s why printing them yourself is a wise decision. If you want to give it a more professional look, some computer software will do just that. There will always be friends and family members who will be more than willing to give you a hand. But if you insist on having them printed, browse through several vendors. Never settle for the first one you see on the yellow pages. You will end up with the best deal if you know how much others are offering.

The Flowers

Fresh flowers are expensive, but no wedding is complete without them. If you want to cut down on a potentially huge expense, buy flowers wholesale. Don’t order from fancy flower shops, but go directly to their suppliers. You can also pick flowers from your own garden, or that of your friends’ or relatives’. You don’t have to use a ton of flowers to make the affair extra elegant. To save on flowers, you can add ribbons and other accessories that match your wedding colors. After all, you have to admit that you rarely even look at the flowers twice when you attended weddings. So lighten up, people won’t really mind (or even notice) that your flowers were grown from your own backyard.

The Wedding Rings or Bands

Diamonds are a girl’s best friend. But they can do the worst thing to the pocket. If you’re planning a wedding on a specific budget, forget diamonds. Go for the plain gold (or white gold) wedding rings since these are the cheapest pairs. You can always just buy yourselves diamonds when you don’t have other expenses to think about. Anyway, a diamond ring is not the only thing that will give you the most “glitter” on your wedding day.

The Wedding Cake

If you’re just expecting 50 people to attend your wedding, why would you need a 5-foot tall wedding cake? The wedding cake is one of the biggest show-offs during the occasion and nothing more than that. Sure, it holds a kind of traditional role in weddings, but it is still an unnecessary one.

If you can’t afford to buy fancy a wedding cake complete with all the trimmings, it is not something to fret about. A simple one will still serve its purpose. You can also ask your mom, a relative, or a friend to make one for you. Forget fondant and the likes. Besides, who cares if you have a sponge or carrot wedding cake?

The Wedding Favors

There are a lot of wedding favor ideas online. Go through the various websites and pick the one which complements to your wedding theme (if you have any). Your choices are widely varied. There are bath accessories like soap and shampoo, or fancy food items such as cookies or mints. All of these are personalized, bearing your names and your wedding date.

But while there are numerous wedding favors to choose from, you can still come up with your own. This is the best expression of gratitude to your guests and a good way of reliving the special moment. So make use of that creative side and create beautiful wedding favors that adhere to the budget.

The Wedding Photographer

Photographs are the biggest evidence of a special affair, so you don’t want to compromise these. Hiring a professional photographer is considered by many as a must. Who can blame them? If you merely ask one or two well-meaning friends to take pictures, chances are, they wouldn’t capture some of the most momentous moments of the occasion. Or worse, they’d capture it the wrong way.

Most couples would rather spend more on photographs than on the invites, cake, or flowers combined. But even if you hire the best photo service, it may be wise to ask friends or family members to take pictures during the occasion as well. While it is highly unlikely that the photographer will chance on a bad roll of film, it doesn’t hurt to be prepared. After all, you will only get one shot at it. So let other people snap pictures all they want. Because there’s still the possibility that the pictures your friends took will be the only ones you’ll ever have.

The Car

A chauffeured limousine is practically everybody’s dream wedding car. But you don’t exactly have to ride in a limo to have the perfect wedding. You can save a lot if you go for a more inexpensive rental. And unless you have the money to pay for such a superfluous extravagance, you’re better off using your dependable old car. A shampoo and a bit of wax will give it the shine it needs. Or better yet, you can just borrow a friend’s luxury car. How’s that for a wedding gift?

Weddings can be expensive if you plan them to be so. But if you firmly stick to your budget, you’ll realize that they can be beautiful without you being too extravagant with it. Sometimes, people are so hyped up with the idea of finally walking down the aisle that they refuse to see the real essence of the celebration. True, weddings are our lives’ biggest performance. But like in plays, audience care more about the plot than the set.

Weddings happen once in most people’s lives. For others, they don’t happen at all. There are a few who experience it many times over. But regardless if this is you first or tenth time to say “I do”, the meaning of the occasion does not change. Thus, no matter how much you prepared for that one special day, only one thing really matters – your commitment to stay together until death parts you. So while wedding essentials exist to make the event memorable, they don’t really influence how the marriage would turn out. You may have the fairytale wedding you dreamed of as a child, but your marriage could turn out as the worse failure in your life. Or you may have the simplest of all weddings, but it could mean the start of a successful eternal union. Bottomline, the various wedding what-have-you’s merely work to satisfy what’s superficial. They only serve to highlight the union. Thus, don’t put in too much effort than what’s actually necessary.

Finding that someone you are willing to spend the rest of your life with sometimes take longer (and is harder) than expected. So when he comes, it doesn’t matter if there’s none of the usual fanfare. Forget fireworks. The important thing is, he came and found his way to you. Sometimes, those who create the loudest boom, end up with the loudest bang as well.

Pulling together resources for a wedding takes a lot of coordination. If your wedding is set for the fall, you may be wondering how you can go about locating bridesmaids’ dresses that reflect the time of year. Actually, there are several good places to check out. Here are a few suggestions of where you can find bridesmaids’ dresses that will be ideal for your fall wedding.

One of the first places to check out will be the same place that you would visit if your wedding were taking place in June rather than November: your local bridal shop. While most of the selections in stock will be in the pastels that tend to be used in the spring and early summer, you may find that there are several dresses to consider that will reflect one or more of the colors you are interested in. In addition, most bridal shops can provide you with a color wheel that indicates the range of hues available for the styles they carry. Often, there will be swatches, so you can see the actual shade up close, and also have a chance to feel the material. If time allows, you may want to have one dress done and see what the finished product looks and feels like before ordering all the dresses.

If there is not time for ordering custom dresses from a shop, you may want to look into the dye services that are offered by some shops. Just make sure you can see a sample of how the colors will come out. This will depend on several factors, including what type of material composes the dresses. Dying pre-made dresses may be a little nerve wracking, but it is worth looking into.

If time is really short and you can’t get something off the rack at a bridal shop, then turn your attention to higher end consignment and thrift shops. You may find several dresses in the right colors that can be altered slightly to mirror a common style. Certainly, finding dresses that are already made and will need only minor touches will be great for the budget.

If all else fails, find a dressmaker. With this option, you will have someone who will assure you that what you have in mind really can come together. Work with the dressmaker on the colors you want, go with a design that is relatively simplistic and can be dressed up slightly with a stole or wrap. The advantage here is that you can personally select the material yourself and each bridesmaid can come in for the initial fitting. This will save a lot of time down the road, as any alterations that need to be done after the dress is sewn should be minor.

Finding just the right bridesmaids’ dresses for your fall wedding may seem like a challenge, but you really can find the look and the colors that you want. With a little ingenuity, some patience, and a good idea of how much you can spend, the dresses will end up being perfect for the occasion.

For many people, the greatest joy of a fall wedding is to sit around the table and eat the food offered at the wedding. (Of course, they will never admit this!) Considering that a wedding is such a unique and special event, the dinner served at the wedding should be unique and special as well. This special flavor and uniqueness should not be limited to just the food that is served at the wedding, but should also embody a certain look and feel to the actual table decorations. This is something that has a tendency to be overlooked by many wedding planners, but it is a sincerely important facet of the wedding that should never be bypassed.

Yes, having a simple, functional wedding table decoration set up would provide the baseline necessity of what the wedding table should offer, but it will certainly not be unique nor memorable. And who would want a wedding that did not provide as many things as possible that would provide as many memorable aspects as possible?

Since a decision was made to hold the wedding in the fall, it would go without saying that the wedding table decoration should be follow the pattern of consistency by containing the look and feel of the fall season. This would include the colors and items that are commonly associated with that time of the year. Such items would, of course, include food and desserts.

Probably the most common fall wedding table decorations that are available will include items that are commonly associated with fall harvests. Such items would be plastic grapes, acorns, apples, mushrooms, leaves, squirrels, and even hedgehogs!

The key is, however, not to just pile a ton of different table decorations on top of each other. What needs to be done is that there needs to be a reserved and limited use of decorations that correspond with the number of guests who are at the table. Far too many decorations at the table have a tendency to clutter the table and make maneuvering around the table difficult for the guests. This distracts their attention away from the wedding and starts to make the decorations perform the opposite result from which they are intended.

Keeping the decorations reserved allows them to be seen much more clearly. When the decorations are more clearly visible, then the decoration perform the duty in which they were intended and perform such duties properly. That main duty is to complement the backdrop of the wedding dinner and highlight the theme of the wedding. Overdoing it can become a wee bit too gaudy, but by using the correct amount of decorations, then the decorations will truly make the wedding dinner table look top notch.

Holding a wedding in the fall has many great benefits and one of the greatest benefits is being able to borrow the wonderful imagery of the fall season and incorporate it into the backdrop of the wedding. Extending this backdrop to the dinner table is advised and when properly performed looks pretty amazing.

The great thing about a fall wedding is that you can take advantage of the rich harvest of colors that can only be found during those autumn months. Here are some ideas on how to translate those warm colors into proper attire for your wedding.

Perhaps the easiest place to pick up fall colors will be with the choice of clothing for the men in the wedding party. If you are going for a formal wedding, the great news is that tuxedos come in a variety of colors that would pick up the autumn look. As an example, a tuxedo in rust or brown would work well for the members of the groom’s party. On the other hand, if you want to maintain a more traditional look, but accent with fall colors, you can go with a sleek black tuxedo, and pick up the autumn colors with the bow tie and the boutonniere. If you need a little more splash of fall color, pick that up with a coordinating cummerbund as well.

A word of advice on the shoes for the men in the wedding party: black may not be the way to go. Black is fine with a black tuxedo, but if you do choose to go with a fall color for the tux, try to find shoes that will match the color of the tux. The look will be more unified and will actually draw less attention to the feet.

When you think in terms of colors for the bridesmaids, keep going with the rich fall colors, such as a deep orange, a muted red, and the darker shades of yellow. All these will lend themselves well to the autumn theme. In putting together bouquets for the bridesmaids and for the bride, don’t forget to work in multicolored leaves along with flowers that are in bloom in your area during the fall. These will compliment the men’s boutonnieres nicely, and also will add visual interest to the solid color of the dresses.

When it comes to the bride and groom, you may choose to have the groom wearing the same attire as the rest of his party. The bride, of course, is the central focus of the day, and should wear white, or at least a color that is not worn by the rest of her party. Her bouquet should be larger, and the dress more full as well.

Should you be going for a more casual approach to the wedding, there are all sorts of choices for attire. A country feel for the wedding would allow the men to be dressed in flannel shirts and jeans, while the members of the bride’s parties could wear flattering but tea length dresses that pick up various autumn colors. Even in this more casual atmosphere, however, the bride should be the center of attention, so make sure she wears something that is floor length and is more elaborate than the other women in the wedding party.

When it comes to selecting fall wedding attire, use your imagination and look at what is available in your area. You will be sure to come up with the look you want.

When planning a reception for a fall wedding, there are several considerations that you may find unique to this time of year. Here are a few examples of things to keep in mind as you plan a wedding reception in the autumn of the year.

Climate Control will be one concern for the fall wedding reception. When it comes to autumn, the weather can be very unpredictable. The day of reception, you may see sunny skies and higher temperatures, or you may find yourself facing chilly times. For this reason, make sure you plan the reception to take place inside, where you can adjust the thermostat and ensure the comfort of all the guests.

When it comes to food, call upon the bountiful harvests of the fall to plan out the menu. Roast turkey, succulent hams, plenty of fall vegetables, and plenty of pies that feature such fall treats as cherries and pumpkin should be the foundation for your fall wedding buffet. In keeping with the fall theme, keep it casual, so everyone feels comfortable helping himself or herself throughout the reception. Remember that the food does not have to be fancy, but is should be plentiful and tasty.

The music should be more relaxed as well. Go with selections that are more in the way of toe tapping sounds, and have plenty of music that the guests can dance to. If you don’t have room for a band, then recorded music will do nicely. Make sure you have an emcee that can keep tabs on the CD player, and you will be able to have one song lead right into the next with no problem.

When it comes to the tables, make sure you use plenty of fall colors on the centerpieces. Gather colorful leaves and mix them in with flowers that are in bloom. You can work ribbon in as well. Or you may want to float wild berries in a dish and place a pillar candle that picks up a fall color, such as orange or pumpkin and flank it with a few fall leaves. Just make sure you leave plenty of room for people to sit down with their full plates and large glasses.

Drink is another item to plan out for your fall wedding reception. It is always a good idea to have both hot and cold beverages on hand. Consider a nice hot spiced apple cider, as well as plenty of coffee on hand for basic hot drinks. If you can be sure the weather will be cold on the day of the reception, you may want to include hot chocolate for any children who are in attendance, as well as for those who are young at heart.

A fall wedding reception is the perfect time to recognize the changing season, even as you recognize the new beginning that is being undertaken by two people. By drawing on the changing colors of the season, turning to the traditional foods of bounty that many people tend to associate with the fall, and enjoying the first wisps of cooler weather that are coming to us after a hot summer, you can come up with plans for a fall wedding reception that will be sure to please.

Holding a wedding in the fall is a wonderful idea, but simply holding the wedding on a date on the calendar that just happens to land on a time of the year that is within the fall season simply will not do the proper justice to the theme of a fall wedding. This is why the wedding and the wedding decorations need to enact a great deal of the items that are so closely associated with the fall. This would include the following five fall wedding decoration ideas:

Decorations should be based on a theme of the fall harvest. Since the fall is most associated with the harvesting of the bounty of food that is derived from the earth, the decorations should borrow heavily from symbols and conventions of such an environment. If they do not, then there is the risk being run that the fall season theme for the wedding will become less than recognizable. This in and off itself will defeat the entire purpose of holding a fall wedding.

Photographic decorations should reflect the season of the fall. This would include interesting photographs placed on the wall or on placards that are reflective of farms and harvesting. Instead of just providing symbolism of the fall season, actual photographic reproductions would be even better. This is not as expensive a decoration as one would think as there are many wonderful photographic representations that are available for display use.

Decorations should be based on parts of the world where the solstice is celebrated. Much of the great symbolism of the fall season derives from what is now the United Kingdom and the former Germanic Empire. While borrowing earthen symbols from these old cultures might be somewhat esoteric, it can be effective if it is used to a minimal degree and as a supplement to the more recognizable symbols that may be present.

Decorations based around certain color schemes that are common with the fall. Green and bright red, for example, are not very evocative of the fall. So, it is suggested that the colors of light red and orange and beige are utilized, as they are the colors of the changing leaves that the fall is so well associated with.

Using the exterior backdrop of the fall season as the total decorative idea. In other words, instead of holding the wedding inside where the beauty of the fall season is hidden, holding the wedding outside where the beautiful sun and leaves and trees are clearly visible would be far more preferable. The fall is a wonderful season of the year so it should be embraced particularly when it is used as the backdrop to something as glorious as a wedding.

There are, of course, many more decoration ideas that can be utilized as the beauty of the fall season goes on forever and the wonderful symbolism that can be borrowed from the fall season for decorative use is fairly unlimited. So, simply brainstorm for ideas and a great many of different, wonderful, intelligent decorative ideas can be instituted.

When planning out a fall wedding, keep in mind that the wedding favors need to reflect both the local customs and also the season. Here are a few ideas to help you come up with imaginative and still appropriate wedding favors for your autumn nuptials.

When deciding what type of favors would adequately reflect your fall wedding, look around you for inspiration. What does the fall bring in your part of the world? Perhaps it is a time when state fairs and traveling carnivals make their way through your town. If that is the case, you may want to draw on things to do with the circus as inspiration for your fall wedding favors. Brightly dressed porcelain dolls, often a prize at a fair, may be the ideal wedding favor. Perhaps stuffed animals, complete with copies of your wedding announcement nestled in their paw, would be appropriate. If carnival food is what comes to mind, you may be able to find a local advertising shop that can supply you with miniature replicas of those two venerable sweets - elephant ears and funnel cakes - that could be inscribed with your names and the date of the wedding.

If the autumn for you means football season, then you no doubt can draw upon all sorts of keepsakes related to the favorite team of the bride and groom. If it happens that the couple holds divided loyalties to the two main local rivals, then it may become necessary to mix the wedding favors so that both teams are represented. The great thing is that there is no limit on the types of items you could purchase and have inscribe for a very reasonable charge, with the team log emblazoned on one side and the wedding date and couple’s names on the other.

The cooling of the weather also means that the wedding favor could also double as a keepsake that can be used in times to come. Fall weddings may use something such as a mug that picks up the colors of the wedding and is personalized with the date and the shared name of the new couple. This can even begin its life of use if the reception features some sort of warm cider or perhaps even hot chocolate as part of the festivities.

Perhaps you have something a little more formal in mind, but still something that lends itself to autumn. Brass and gold tend to be a little more formal, so you could think in terms of a small figurine, or even something along the lines of a goblet. Small brass frames with a picture of the newly married couple may also be a nice wedding favor for the guest to take home with them.

When deciding on wedding favors, the idea is to provide something that will be a lasting memento for everyone who attended. Keeping the wedding favor in line with the season is a great way to reinforce that memory, and certainly drawing on elements that have local significance make it even easier for people to remember the occasion of your wedding with fondness. By taking all these concepts in mind when selecting your fall wedding favors, you are sure to come up with an idea that will be a winner.

Selecting a Winter Wedding Theme

If you have already decided that you wish the theme of your wedding to be based around the winter season, then you are 75% of the way towards selecting the proper wedding theme. The reason for this is the fact that pinning down the theme to the winter months narrows the scope of the themes and allows the planning of the wedding to go smoothly as there is a decided focus for the wedding as it will be based around the holiday and winter months season. More than just providing a focus, however, the winter theme allows great flexibility for incorporating the winter weather into the wedding and also allows the weather to provide the perfect backdrop to the wedding.

Part of the reason that the winter is a wonderful time of the year for a wedding is that winter is so close to the holidays that the feeling of joyous festivities is in the air. This upbeat nature of the winter season will carry over into the wedding and provide a mood that will make the wedding even more uplifting that it would normally be. While winter weddings are not as popular as fall and spring weddings, they are growing in popularity more and more as people see that the winter season provides excellent auras for exchanging vows.

For a winter theme, it can be fun to choose a winter vacation style inn as the location of the wedding. Since inns that are designed for winter tourism are already winter themed in appearance, the necessity for winter decorations and splendor will be greatly reduced as the inn will already embody these needed and welcome traits. In a way, selecting an winter inn themed wedding eliminates a great deal of planning on the part of those crafting the wedding, because a winter in is “built to order” so to speak when it comes to winter themed events.

In order to boost the inn as the winter themed site, it is best to have the proper winter wedding favors decorating the inn. By doing this, the inn will embody even more of the theme of the wonderful winter months.

Now, one does not have to hold the wedding indoors (although it would be wise to hold the reception indoors) as the wedding could be held on the lawn or back yard of the inn. This still allows the wedding to capture the spirit of the winter inn wedding theme while at the same time taking advantage of what the outdoors offer during this time of the year.

The variations on selecting a winter theme for a wedding can go on for infinity, but at some point a person needs to actually make a selection as to what theme will be picked. In order to do this, a person must decide what environment truly embodies the winter and how feasible such an environment will be to actually hold the wedding. From a number of angles, a winter inn can provide the perfect theme for one’s winter wedding choices

Anyone who has ever seen the conventional representation of a wedding in a book, magazine, TV show, movie, painting, etc will probably realize that no matter what medium one is viewing the representation of the wedding or regardless of the actual era in which the photograph, drawing or depiction of the wedding is derived from, [...]

Anyone who has ever seen the conventional representation of a wedding in a book, magazine, TV show, movie, painting, etc will probably realize that no matter what medium one is viewing the representation of the wedding or regardless of the actual era in which the photograph, drawing or depiction of the wedding is derived from, it is nothing short of stunning how all these images of the wedding look identical. That is, the colors, the designs, the venue are all almost entirely the same. A wedding, like anything else, when victim of convention runs the risk of becoming both boring and generic in term of the visual allure and, needless to say, when something is boring it will hardly be memorable. Sure, the bride and groom will remember it, but it will pass of into obscurity in the minds of the guests. In order to make the wedding memorable, there must be some steps taken in order to make the wedding different or unique as opposed to suffering the convention of dull repetition.

When it comes to Fall wedding ideas it is a smart idea to use the beauty of the fall season and incorporate it into the actual wedding environment. The simplest way to do this is by holding the wedding outdoors and allowing the beauty and color of the fall season to be integrated into the wedding itself. Many times, the theme of the wedding will incorporate the vibrant earthly delights that the fall is known for. An example of this would be creating a wedding around the theme of a harvest, as the fall was a time of the year known for the harvesting of wheat and grains in many parts of the world. A wedding that is themed around praising the glory of the natural world would be an incredibly unique wedding idea. Now, this is not to suggest that one decides to base a wedding theme around primitive pagan Wicker Man style rituals (although there will be those people who find such an idea intriguing!), but a simple integration of the fall season’s symbolic history into the wedding can be appealing.

The fall is a wonderful and beautiful time of the year. The interior of any banquet hall will literally look the same all year round. While there are many beautiful looking banquet halls, there is no banquet hall that can ever match the beauty and glory of the natural world and all its seasons of the year.

Perhaps it would be wise to look up photographs of weddings from many years past in such parts of the world such as Wales where autumn harvests were popular themes for weddings. (This was because weddings were tied into the fertility rituals of a bountiful harvest) While one does not have to integrate concepts from earthly religions into the wedding itself, the backdrop of the historical environment the weddings took place in could be an interesting place to recreate. Hopefully this will provide food for thought for upcoming wedding plans.

Planning a wedding involves a great deal of legwork both structural and artistic. Part of this legwork involves creating a visual lookthat is within the context of the season that the wedding is taking place. Never underestimate the proper selection of color schemes when it comes to planning a wedding. That is, the look of the wedding must successfully utilize specific colors that will properly highlight the seasonal theme of the wedding. If the wedding colors are off, then the entire look of the wedding will be affected. This is not a minor problem that can be easily overlooked, because if the color scheme is totally askew, then for all intents and purposes, the wedding will be a visual nightmare. When one considers how elaborate a wedding usually is, then it is fairly obvious that a correction can not be made on the spot as to correct a poor color scheme. That would require a complete overhaul of the entire wedding. That just is not something that can be undertaken right on the spot.

There simply must be an accurate and proper color scheme designed to coincide with the season. The winter, for example, draws its benefits from specific colors in the form of using white, silver and light blue shades. The reason for this is that these colors are tied into the theme of snow or, more specifically, the way in which the sun reflects off the ground. (Just be wary of snow blindness!) The fall wedding season requires similar color themes to be properly undertaken.

The colors for the fall need to have a bright, brazen quality and charm that links closely to the falling leaves and the transitory period between summer and winter. The epicenter of this look will be the color of leaves when they fall from the tree, which is a beige and orange type hue. Also, a bright reddish look that certain leaves will exhibit can also be utilized. These natural colors will provide an excellent backdrop look to any fall wedding.

While some may consider red, orange and brown as horrible colors for a wedding, they are horrible colors if you are borrowing the colors from a Crayola crayon box. However, we are not selecting fire engine red crayons or blaze orange crayons to create the color scheme of the wedding. The key here is not the traditional form of the previously mentioned colors, but rather the shades of these colors that leaves and trees will take during the fall season of the year.

As one can assume, if the colors that are selected completely clash with the season of the fall, the visual look of the wedding will appear severely awkward. Needless to say, who would want the adjective “awkward” placed in front of their wedding? Probably not all that many people would approve of such a thing. So, be sure to make the right selection or suffer the consequences!
